Celebrate Wallingford
During the Celebrate Wallingford event, the Wallingford Amateur Radio Group (WARG) focused on community outreach by partnering with the local health department to promote emergency preparedness and the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program. Members engaged with numerous visitors, sharing information about amateur radio’s role in public safety, showcasing their VHF go kit, and distributing brochures. The event sparked strong interest, particularly in light of Hurricane Helene’s recent impact, leading several attendees to sign up for CERT training. WARG’s presence underscored the value of teamwork and highlighted how amateur radio supports community resilience and emergency response.
