About Wallingford CERT

Wallingford Community Emergency Response Team, Inc. is a group of local volunteers who receive special training to provide emergency assistance to the Wallingford community.

Our mission

To respond as a team to assist local responders, the community, public health officials and federal agencies in local and regional emergency incidents and public service events.

CERT teams are organized to support both the first responders and the Emergency Operations Center’s support functions.

What is CERT

Neighbors trained to help

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. CERT volunteers across the country learn basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations, so they can help their households, neighbors and community when professional responders are stretched thin.

In Wallingford, CERT is part of the Town’s Office of Emergency Management program and works alongside fire, police, EMS and public health.
